Introduction
Hepatitis B Home Remedies
Hepatitis B is a viral infection that can cause serious liver disease. It’s spread through contact with infected blood, body fluids and sexual contact. The virus is most often transmitted during childbirth when the mother is infected with the virus from her baby.
The virus attacks your liver and causes inflammation of the area. Liver damage may occur early or late in the disease process. In rare cases, it may lead to cirrhosis (scarring) of the liver, which can cause liver failure and death.
I will share with you hepatitis B home remedies in this article.
Causes of Hepatitis B
There are many possible causes of hepatitis B.
Some reasons for hepatitis B are:
1. Exposure to blood that has been contaminated with virus or are splashed in the eye, nose or onto broken skin.
2. Contamination of blood with infected body fluids such as semen or vaginal secretions during sex with an infected person (referred to as perinatal transmission).
3. Exposure to an infected mother during birth (for example, if she is not treated for her infection).
4. Condom use does not protect against HBV infection if the condom breaks during sex and comes in contact with genital secretions from an infected partner (particularly if condoms are used more than once).
5. Hepatitis B virus can be transmitted from mother to baby during pregnancy, delivery and breastfeeding (breast milk transmission).
Symptoms of Hepatitis B
The symptoms of hepatitis B vary from person to person, but most people experience a combination of the following symptoms:
Fever: Fever is common in the first week of infection, but it may not be present for up to six months after infection.
Loss of appetite: You may not feel hungry because you’re feeling ill and nauseated. This symptom can last up to six months after you get Hepatitis B.
Nausea: You may feel nauseous as well as have abdominal pain because your liver is inflamed by infection with Hepatitis B.
Jaundice: As your liver becomes more inflamed, it can’t get rid of toxins so they build up in your blood stream until you look yellow or jaundiced (yellowish skin tone). This symptom usually lasts for several weeks.
